they are really inspiring me add vintage Japanese fans to my ongoing collecting obsessions

Really quite a lovely sculptural object

which seem mostly to date from the 1940s or so

I am always on the lookout for antique treen bottles and boxes, and so often disappointed to pull them out of cases to find a large crack running down one side. This one, on the other hand, is in exceptional condition and just stunning. Late ish 19th century, and I believe made of boxwood, it would once have held a glass bottle inside, but now could be used to house all sorts of little things, or nothing at all! 5" tall x 2 3 4"
