A round gilt bronze medal; the obverse depicting the rightward facing bust of Kaiser Franz Joseph, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed Der Tapferkeit (German For Bravery), within a laurel wreath, marked bronze on edge, on a loop for suspension from a period ribbon with a single clasp; measuring 40. 26 mm in diameter; in overall near very fine condition.
