A circular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a crowned cipher WRII (for King Wilhelm II) with the date 1912 below, the reverse bearing the inscription VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT (STATE MERIT) encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, measuring 39. 40 mm (w) x 50. 15 mm (h), on a white ribbon with orange stripes, very fine.
