Baden, Grand Duchy. An Order of the Zähringer Lion, Commander’s Breast Star Hold topped by a ribbed wind-up(Orden vom Zhringer Lwen Bruststern zum Kommandeur). Instituted 26 December 1812 by Grand Duke Karl Friedrich. (1840 1918 issue). Constructed of silver with Gold and enamels, the obverse consisting of a four pointed radiant star joined through the quadrants by intricate arabesques, overlaid by a Cross Patte with a Gold grame and green enameled arms, bearing a central medallion featuring a hand painted depiction of the tower of Zhringer Castle, in turn
