Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised swastika, overlaid by Sig runes which are in turn surrounded by a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a raised number 8, overlaid by an inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS),
