It took me a moment to place this curious creature

as with the two "captive" rings on the stem of this one

To eye rather a beautiful object too, which I believe was made for butcher shop display, c. 1940s or so. 7 1 2" x 2 7 8" and in great condition. With a partial stamp on reverse, with Cincinatti, Ohio readable.
