Vintage Moroccan Sahraouia Rug 305/140 cm Lowri or open shelfCirca 1980's. A characterful flat weave sourced from the Zagoura region in Morocco, on the cusp of the Sahara desert. Sahraoui flat weaves were the most common textiles for nomadic tribes travelling the dunes, densely woven to endure the climate, but still breathable and lighter weight due to the mix of sheep and goat wool. The design of Sahraoui rugs reflects the local landscape, with repeating horizontal bands of gradient colour that cascade along
