Represented is a story from the Book of Tobit, in which the Archangel Raphael accompanies the young Tobias, and his dog, on a journey to Media to collect a debt for his blind father, Tobit. On the way, Raphael has Tobias gut a fish, the gall of which Tobias later rubs on his father's eyes, curing his blindness. Here we have a wonderful (very
