Portrait of Archibald Geikie (1835-1924) Mr Burt Original is oil on canvasHalf length portrait of Sir Archibald Geikie, seated in a wooden armchair, dressed in a dark suit, white shirt and maroon tie with a gold stick pin. A watch chain is visible at the sitter's waist. Geikie has long white side whiskers and holds metal rimmed spectacles in his right hand, the left resting on his thigh.
