including for the fact that the box they come in is pretty terrific

I think having this guy perched nearby surely much increase one's empathy quotient toward the rest of the world

One finds some similar that were made in. Japan, but these are stamped Germany on their interiors, and I would guess date to the 1920s 40s or so. Smallish face sized: 5 7 8" t x 5" wide, measured straight across the back (not on the curve. Very good condition. One would need to attach ribbons or elastic at the temples to wear, or thread a little loop or two to hang. Price
