with some wear to the surface of the paper as documented in photos but in great shape structurally and very substantial

sturdily screwed on to the mother and/or to the base

I purchased this piece at the estate sale of gallerist Cynthia Numark Prelack

Carved and Intensively Decorated Vintage Wooden Snake wood plane I trust you are improvingThe shape of this snake remind me a bit of that of a boomerang, and the inked black and gold decoration all over feels a bit Aboriginal Australian too, but I don't know for sure where I came from just that I think its a pretty great snake, just the right size to keep on one's desk, or put on someone else's as a surprise! Nicely carved head with open mouth and white teeth inside. 10 1 2" long measured as a straight line from head to tail; 4 1 4" across
